The tradition started out in Cali and is now super popular all over the U.S., especially NYC. We're all about the taco life here at the office and it is a crime to go though any Tuesday without devouring one. Making your own at home is super dank but today I'm probably going to crush the Calexico truck real quick during lunch. Yes, I know...I'm addicted to the crack sauce. However, if your looking to hit up a restaurant and sit down for this fine occasion, here are some of my favorite NYC spots (in no particular order):
Five Points, 31 Great Jones Street:
If your about that fish taco craze, Five Points is your spots. It was started by the same people behind Cookshop and Hundred Acres, so you know the food is top shelf. The tacos are topped with pickled onions, roasted tomato salsa, radishes and lime crema which go perfectly with the delectable fish.
Empellon Cocina, 105 1st Avenue:
It's impossible to make a top taco list without mentioning Empellon Cocina. They have so many great options but you can't leave with trying the Chicken Wing Taco at least once.
Cafe El Presidente, 30 W 24th Street:
With the same chef as the ever popular Peels, this Mexican eatery is the new talk of Chelsea. The El Pastor is the go-to here which is a pork taco with pineapple, cilantro, and onions. All of their tacos are made with fresh corn tortillas.
ABC Cocina, 38 E 19 Street:
This Union Square restaurant is always poppin' on Taco Tuesday. The popular item here is the short rib tacos with habanero relish and curled onions.
