When I think of Summer I think of fresh, juicy produce. Whether it's a lush red tomato or a dank watermelon, I like to hit up local farm stands to get my fruits and veggies straight from the source. Here are some of my favorite ones on the East End:
1.) Hayground Market (1616 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton)
Located right before Bridgehampton, this farm stand is so convenient to hit up as your weekend is just getting started. The peppers at the stand are out of this world and they let you pick your own berries and flowers in the field.
2.) Round Swamp Farms (184 Three Mile Harbor Road, East Hampton)
With the family farm right behind the stand, the vegetables are given to you literally right after being picked. There is also a really good fresh-fish market as well a bakery that makes the MEANEST blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies. The homespun jams and salsas are also a must have.
3.) Amagansett Farmer's Market (Route 27 Main Street, Amagansett)
There's so many good choices here that it is sometimes hard to make up your mind. Not only is there natural produce but there is also a deli, a cheese, and an awesome bakery. No matter what delicacy you choose, enjoy it while looking over the sickkkkk Japanese fish pond.
